Who we are:
The Sheffield New Muslim Project is run by new Muslims and those with a link to the convert community in Sheffield and its surrounding areas.
We do not have 'members' as such, but we do offer activities, events and a community to converts and their families and those interested in Islam.
Our services are mainly focussed on new converts, but we also welcome more seasoned Muslims and, due to the large number of students in Sheffield, the project includes people from a wide range of both local and international backgrounds and of all ages.
What we do:
We have developed from small beginnings into an organisation offering a range of services to an ever growing population.
We have an understanding of what it is like to convert to Islam, so the group aims to offer support to others through this exciting, yet sometimes challenging time.
Our ethos is to create a neutral and non-judgemental environment in which people can explore new ideas and learn to enjoy and respect the variety found within the wider Muslim community.
As a group, we also work to educate the Muslim community on the needs of converts and their families.
